Terry Glenn To Be Waived

The Cowboys will be cutting Terry Glenn this weekend. Although the move is, according to Jerry Jones, not because of his refusal to add an injury buyout to his contract, it's because of his refusal to add an injury buyout to his contract.

It's hard to say whether Glenn is done without knee imagery and a doctor. He's looked to be done before and had second and third lives -- these sort of players seem to never die, so it's not impossible that we could see Glenn be productive somewhere else. He might not want to go there at first, but he could end up a Miami Dolphin when things are said and done.

An alternate location? Cleveland, where Romeo Crennel is at least familiar with Glenn from his time with the Patriots (albeit time not particularly enjoyed by Glenn once Crennel was there); the Browns need another wideout to replace Joe Jurevicius.

First, first!

Second, he'll find another job. Cris Carter got a job after how many years in the booth? It'll be veteran's minimum, no bonus, he gets paid if he's decent, if not, he gets cut and that's that.

One possible destination is Jacksonville where Jerry Porter is down for the preseason, Reggie Williams just sprained a knee and might be put on the PUP list to start camp, Matt Jones got arrested for drugs, and Mike Walker is still rehabbing his knee and will only practice once per day during 'two-a-days'. If Glenn can convince the team that his knee is healthy, Jacksonville seems like a good place to try and land.

Stillio,

Jacksonville has enough wide receivers with red flags. Williams' knee, Porter's hamstring, Matt Jones' felony, Troy Williamson's baggage & suspect hands, Mike Walker's knee, John Broussard's chicken legs...

I don't see how adding a guy who probably needs work done on his knee or whose knee could give out at any time is really going to solidify that position.

I wonder if it will be PFT or the WIP blathermonkeys who'll be the first to suggest the Eagles should sign Glenn.

Dallas Morning News claims Glenn wasn't going to be able to practice anyway because he's too out of shape from not being able to work out because of the knee. Good luck to whoever picks him up. Its too bad because he was a fun guy to watch play.

I don't know if Glenn would be interested, but the Bears could use a WR or three.

#1

Cris Carter retired in 2001 and came back in 2002 (week 9 for the Dolphins). Unless he is coming back again..

She could end up in Miami if she's healthy.

My money is on New Orleans,
they could use someone NOW to stretch the field opposite Colston (and Shockey). The Dolphins are building for the future so last thing they need is an thirty-something receiver with a knee that could go at any moment.

Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem are both "stretch the field" guys. Of course, with Henderson hurting his hamstring today, that could be a problem.

The Vikings should pick him up.

My guess would be Miami. Parcells could use maybe the most skillful receiver still in the game... even if it is a *she*.

Beck will need somebody to throw to that can play the position and isn't seen as a glorified punt returner.

The guy has no cartilage left, game over.
