Lofa Tatupu has emerged as one of the big names on the Seahawks' defense. Tatupu deserves his praise, but this week Michael David Smith looks at the players who put Tatupu in a position to succeed.

Among this week's questions: How did the injury to Flozell Adams affect the Dallas running game? Can we compare quarterbacks across eras? Why do strategies from the college game not work in the NFL? Which defenses faced the most fourth-down tries? And which team is on top of weighted DVOA going into the Super Bowl: Pittsburgh or Seattle?

Another impressive win for the Steelers has them heading to Detroit as favorites. Ben Roethlisberger has been great, but it is the pass rush that is leading this team. Denver suffers another difficult playoff loss, but maybe the biggest problem could be the defensive coaching, not the quarterback.

The NFL's final four features a quartet of strong teams, and each has at least a one in five chance of winning the Super Bowl. It's the slight gradations in that last one chance in five that determine who should be favored in this weekend's contests. You'll find all the DVOA analysis you know and love over on FOXSports.com, previewing both Pittsburgh at Denver and Carolina at Seattle. Discussion is here, along with extra analysis of Denver's run defense and the 2003 Panthers vs. the 2005 Panthers.

You know about Seattle's running back, quarterback and offensive line. But what made the Seahawks improve from a mediocre team last year to a title contender this year? The answer is the run defense. Read about the most important addition to that defense in this week's installment of Every Play Counts.
