Tony Romo and Brett Favre put their squads firmly in the elite, and one of two winless teams finally gets off the schneid. Goofy coaching challenges and time management issues seemed to sprout up around the league. And while all this was happening, Cincinnati's Shayne Graham kicked a Bironas-esque seven field goals. Yeah, it was one of THOSE days.

In this very special Every Other Game version of Audibles, we turn our attention to the unprecedented "Holy Crap!" value of Adrian Peterson, Jonathan Vilma's replacement, Antonio Cromartie's record run, Jared Allen's mullet, the auto-destruction of the Eagles and Seahawks, and more Keep Choppin' Wood entrants than you can you can shake a Feist-filled iPhone at.

The Game of the Century gets its own Audibles thread, discussing the wacky nature of pass interference, the greatness of Joseph Addai, the underappreciated Rosevelt Colvin, and the switch New England finally turned on late in the game. What our readers discuss in response is anyone's guess.

Two teams remain undefeated and two more stay winless, as America now prepares for the next installment of Pats-Colts. (Too bad the Rams and Dolphins don't play each other this year!) Also, the Jets try a non-defense defense, Andy Reid gets cute in the red zone, Frank Gore tries to remember what the red zone looks like, and the Saints and Chargers continue their positive turnarounds.

Kickers set records and start fights. The Patriots are automatic, and so are the Rams (in a different way, of course). Everyone says kind things about Trent Edwards, the Cover-2 is debated, and Matt Vasgersian cooks Tiki Barber's goose in a very wide-ranging Audibles.

This week's Audibles features Mike Holmgren losing his grip, the Patriots smacking down another opponent, Jeff Garcia's continued redemption, and Adrian Peterson gaining a nickname you probably wouldn't want to slap on a T-shirt.

Week 5: The Seahawks go for the full faceplant in a "Super Bowl rematch," the Bears enjoy another prime-time comeback, and the Bucs learn that zone coverage doesn't work against Peyton Manning. And wait -- are the Cardinals and Raiders really leading their divisions?

Brian Griese proves that backups should generally be backups; the Cardinals continue their quarterback go-round; the Rams and Norv Turner compete to see who can hit bottom first; and Justin Smiley fights Winston Justice for the Keep Choppin' Wood award.

Rex Grossman may have tested the limits once too often, Donovan McNabb eludes the Curse of the "halfro," Leslie Feist drives Aaron to distraction, the Rams' offense just falls apart, and Herm Edwards needs to turn on the Google.

The Browns hit the Bengals with a 50-burger and the Bengals nearly reciprocate; the Seahawks lay an egg in Glendale; the Colts narrowly escape another Titan attack; and "FO Theater" announces the debut of A Man Called Spaeth.
