Monday Night Football is moving to ESPN in 2006. Not a complete shock. What is a surprise is what has just been reported by Mike Francesca on WFAN 660 in New York -- Sunday Night Football is moving to NBC.

Not the best off-season for Michael Vick, a.k.a. Ron Mexico. First came the revelation that Vick and associates were involved in the disappearance of a airport security officer's Rolex. Now, TheSmokingGun.com is revealing details of a lawsuit filed against Vick for allegedly giving a woman herpes. According to the lawsuit, Vick uses the name "Ron Mexico" when he receives treatment for his condition.

The NFC East has been very active early on in free agency. Dallas already has new starters at quarterback, defensive tackle and cornerback. The Giants have a new face in the middle of their defense. Washington made a huge upgrade in the middle of their offensive line but will that be enough to offset their losses on defense? With all of this turmoil in their division, why has Philadelphia been so quiet in the first 24 hours of free agency? Al Bogdan takes a trip through the land of 6-10 in the latest edition of Four Downs.

Just saw the PTI guys talking about this story. Mike Tice, whose contract with the Vikings is up after this season, is all but openly campaigning for the University of Washington coaching job. I've never heard of a current NFL head coach going out of his way to talk about how much he'd like to become a college head coach next season. Maybe Tice sees the writing on the wall and doesn't expect to be asked back next year in Minnesota, so he's talking now to stop UW from hiring Ty Willingham.

So Ty Willingham was fired so Notre Dame could hire Urban Meyer? Maybe Notre Dame should have talked to Meyer first. The University of Florida has offered its job to Meyer who reportedly will accept the deal. On Mike and the Mad Dog on WFAN in NY, Mike Francesca, who knows people in Utah from his friendship with Rick Majerus, added some details to the story. According to Francesca, Notre Dame lowballed Meyer on money and refused to lower their academic standards to allow Meyer to recruit better players.

Ty Willingham is out in South Bend. I'm kind of surprised by this one. Notre Dame hasn't been that good the past two years, but I thought they'd at least let Ty finish out his contract. AFAIK, Notre Dame has a history of not firing coaches during their initial coaching contracts. I wonder what would make Willingham so different from all of the Notre Dame coaches that have come before him ...

The Cleveland Browns have gutted their front office over the past three years in part to give Butch Davis more power and control over the organization. Now Davis' days are numbered. According to ESPN's sources, if the Browns don't beat the Bengals on Sunday, Davis will be looking for a new job, possibly in Gainesville, Florida. Either defensive coordinator Dave Campo or offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie would take over as interim head coach for the rest of the season.
