There's nothing wrong with having a bit of a man-crush on Larry Centers, right? This week's Football Outsiders feature on the Boston Sports Media Watch looks at Centers, Chester Taylor, and other running backs who lead their team in receptions.

But, what about Randall Cunningham and Steve Young?
Burned to toast?
Vaporized to milk shake?
Or... escaped to ESPN?!?
Until we know, we'll have to see whether running quarterbacks do, as Bill Simmons hypothesized three weeks ago, flame out quicker than slower ones. Like Shredder.

DJ Gallo's latest documents the secret text message exchanges between Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens (why didn't I hear about this on PFT?), and follows with a shockingly-allowed-onto-Page-2 Peter King reference.

The first of two BSMW pieces this week take a look at the issue of early/late bye weeks affecting overall team performance, as brought up by the Dallas Morning News's Matt Mosley.

The Patriots will have neither Eugene Wilson nor Ellis Hobbs available for duty against the Bengals on Sunday; both, along with RT Ryan O'Callaghan, are listed as Out. I think this would make the Cincinnati passing offense a much stronger play in fantasy this week, particularly T.J. Houshmandzadeh and even Chris Henry.

The Seahawks, today, waived former starting linebacker Isaiah Kacyvenski in order to promote running back Marquis Weeks off the practice squad. Kacyvenski, a Harvard graduate and special teams standout, would seem to fit in well on a certain team that used to collect these sort of guys like they were Pogs and has about twelve million dollars in cap room.

Chris Simms, apparently, was rushed to the hospital after today's game with the Panthers and has, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, had his spleen removed after rupturing it.

This week's column, named after my favorite fantasy football team name of all time, takes a look at how teams employing a running back committee perform as opposed to similarly-skilled teams who use a single back.

This week, the lens is on teams who lose their two top wide receivers, and how they perform after doing so; a trip that takes us back, strangely enough, to Bill Belichick's tenure in Cleveland.
