This week's theme: the AFC South, where three of the four defenses rank 28th or worst in DVOA. Also, a sad tale of the sun setting in Arizona for one my favorite fantasy players.

Thanksgiving weekend was all about coach appreciation. We enjoyed our remaining time with Norv and Romeo, noted Mularkey's boldness, and wondered if John Harbaugh's ever kneeled his way out of field goal range.

Fantasy schedule strengths for kickers and defenses. Is Kaepernick for real? Ditto Jacksonville's offense? Otherwise, start your Bengals and Colts.

Do teams play better with a week off? Do they play worse with short rest? And are these effects more prominent on offense or defense? (Click to read more.)

What does Adjusted Games Lost say about the health of the Patriots secondary over the past eight seasons? It says they've been injured a ton. What has it meant for their pass defense DVOAs? Apparently, not much. (Click to read more.)

This week, we give DVOA-based fantasy schedule strengths to help set up your roster for the playoffs. Also, we tout players in silver and black, and tell you why several matchups aren't what they seem.

This week, we're high on the Dolphins passing game, and high on the Steelers running game; if you can predict which back will be getting the bulk of the carries. Also, beware a Chris Ivory letdown.

I've got an upcoming column on FO using our snap count data to look at links between snap counts and player years of experience. In a quick-hitter at my former internet home, though, I detail the discovery that San Francisco has given the fewest snaps to rookies of any team in the league; and it's not even close. This piece was geared towards the Niners Nation crowd, but there's a table of rookie snap counts for all teams through Week 9 if you're interested.

New Orleans presents the perfect opportunity for Michael Vick to get back on track, while Tony Romo and Andy Dalton are among this week's poor plays.

We recommend seeing if you can cut a deal for Andre Johnson, and jumping off the Shonn Greene train before it's too late. You'll want to start Andrew Luck this week, but don't play Doug Martin if you have better options.
