Nate Clements to San Francisco

Adam Schefter is reporting on NFL Network that the San Francisco 49ers have made Nate Clements the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, with an eight-year, $80 million contract that includes $22 million guaranteed.

Pacman Accused of Instigating Shooting

A troubling story out of NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas, where Titans cornerback Pacman Jones is accused of starting a fight in a strip club that ended up with a shooting outside the club in which one person was paralyzed. No one is alleging that Jones was the shooter, but the owners of the club are saying the shooter was part of Jones' entourage. Is there any player in the league more gifted on the field and more troubled off the field than Pacman Jones?

Irvin In, Monk Out of Hall of Fame

The newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame are: Gene Hickerson, Michael Irvin, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Roger Wehrli.

Art Monk was snubbed again, and I thought this was his best chance. I don't think he's going to make it.
