I come not to bury Robert Griffin, but to ... oh, I come to bury him.

Here they are. Fixing some little mistakes in there as I post this. For some reason, it was hard to keep up with some of this week's nitty-gritty news.

It's pretty much the same as Mandatory Monday, folks. I kick off this week with a count of the holding and contact penalties, with five-year totals to show that, yes, there were a few more on Thursday and Sunday.
Then, it's off to the Gary Kubiak jokes.

They launch on Saturday mornings now. Otherwise, it's the same old friend waiting to meet you with jokes about Mike Tice and Justin Tucker.

Hello old friends!
As you may have heard, there was a massive shakeup/purge at Sports on Earth back on August 4th. I was part of a skeleton crew retained by Major League Baseball Advanced Media after USA Today pulled out of our venture, but while I was thrilled to be given the chance to keep working, I fit in to the new reality about as well as a Yankees quarterback. It was obviously in my best interests to move on.

This is, in some ways, my ultimate Mandatory Monday at Sports on Earth. In other ways, it is just another On the Rise list.

Some big penalty stats in here, as well as talk about completion rates and quarterback "packages."

Remember that episode of Star Trek TNG where Wesley created a warp bubble, and Dr. Crusher was trapped inside it, and the rest of the crew kept disappearing until it was just her and Picard on the Enterprise? And Picard was all like, "no biggie, we can pilot this starship ourselves?" But it was still creepy and spooky and a little desperate?
I can't say why I have been thinking about that episode a lot lately. I just have.
Anyway, here is a look back at the preseasons of some great rookie quarterbacks.

The Preseason Watchability Guide is back! It debuted on Walkthrough a few years ago. Stick around for the link at the end to my attempt to retrace Johnny Manziel's drinking steps in suburban Cleveland.

Or as I titled it: A Welcome Distraction.
It would be easy to go with the flow and just shout what everyone else is shouting. The easiest thing in the world. Best of all, we all take turns labeling each other "courageous" for shouting it. But maybe all the overdramatic shouting is part of the problem.
