Some big penalty stats in here, as well as talk about completion rates and quarterback "packages."

Remember that episode of Star Trek TNG where Wesley created a warp bubble, and Dr. Crusher was trapped inside it, and the rest of the crew kept disappearing until it was just her and Picard on the Enterprise? And Picard was all like, "no biggie, we can pilot this starship ourselves?" But it was still creepy and spooky and a little desperate?
I can't say why I have been thinking about that episode a lot lately. I just have.
Anyway, here is a look back at the preseasons of some great rookie quarterbacks.

The Preseason Watchability Guide is back! It debuted on Walkthrough a few years ago. Stick around for the link at the end to my attempt to retrace Johnny Manziel's drinking steps in suburban Cleveland.

Or as I titled it: A Welcome Distraction.
It would be easy to go with the flow and just shout what everyone else is shouting. The easiest thing in the world. Best of all, we all take turns labeling each other "courageous" for shouting it. But maybe all the overdramatic shouting is part of the problem.

It really is a thankless, hopeless task trying to compare a bunch of 24 year olds who are clearly on the rise with a bunch of 35-40 year olds climbing down from Mount Olympus. But I give it a whirl.

We did the offensive lines, now here are the guys they block for. We'll use stats like broken tackles and success rate to figure out which teams have the best running backs, which teams have the worst, and which teams have the worst who would have been the best if this was currently 2010. (Hi, Oakland!)

Top receiver corps, to be specific, and I consider tight ends and running backs who can catch as part of the corps.

There's a link in this article to a blog entry about where the Seahawks rank among the best secondaries of history. It's a little like an old school Walkthough "Top Five."
