Our numbers back up the conventional wisdom when it comes to edge rushers in the 2017 draft: this Garrett kid is Myles ahead of the competition.

Even in what looks like an historically great class of running back prospects, LSU's Leonard Fournette comes out on top. The depth of quality options, though, makes it clear: 2017 is a great year to draft a runner.

Here are the 2017 SackSEER projections. We have no problem with the consensus wisdom that Myles Garrett should be the No. 1 pick in this year's draft. SackSEER also likes Solomon Thomas and T.J. Watt, but is a bit worried about Taco Charlton.

Nathan Forster is back with an upgraded version of the BackCAST system introduced last year. It suggests 2017 is a historically great year for running backs, but pegs Alvin Kamara of Tennessee is a likely bust. We'll expand upon this article next week on FO, explaining the changes in the BackCAST system made since last year.

Our annual statistical examination of wide receiver prospects finds one big name who might be overrated, but also finds plenty of players who might offer depth in later rounds.

Here are Nathan Forster's Playmaker Score projections for the top WR prospects of 2017. John Ross comes out as our No. 1 prospect even though Playmaker Score doesn't account for 40 time. Corey Davis has one of the strongest projections ever for a senior. Mike Williams comes out as a bit overrated -- not a lot, just a bit. As we did last year, there will be an expanded piece with all the Playmaker Scores for 2017 (both "rating" and "projection") on FO next week.

Our new, more detailed running back forecast system isn't big on the 2016 draft class, but it has a clear favorite in mind, and also likes the potential of some mid-round sleepers.

A lackluster crop of edge rushers is highlighted by an SEC player whose upside barely outshines his weaknesses.

The numbers strongly favor one wide receiver prospect in this year's draft, but can those numbers be trusted in this case?

Get a sneak peak at the top edge-rusher prospects according to our SackSEER system. Joey Bosa and Leonard Floyd are tied at the top, though Bosa is more of a sure thing. BYU's Bronson Kaufusi is an interesting sleeper. A longer version of SackSEER will appear on Football Outsiders next week.
