Ben pumped this a little bit in his column last week, but our own Matt Waldman is running a project this offseason that involves a team of esteemed football minds of the internet putting together teams of their own. Players were all given assigned values and said writers had to defend their selections and create team concepts, sub packages, and more.
We probably won't link to all of these, but we do want to show them off for our writers involved in this process, like Mike Tanier, Mr. Muth, and Matt's final pass at his team.

Jason Lisk checked out how similar the talent pool stacks up in the NFL and NBA drafts. Turns out, surprisingly, that they're roughly even once you account for the difference in starting players.

Here's an interesting little piece on Smart Football about the ramifications of the death of the BCS system. Just how important is it to reward the "best" team?

Vonta Leach giveth, Vonta Leach taketh away. Plus, the Lions are the new single-back crown holders.

Sure is rare to see a lengthy profile on an NFL player these days, but the Chicago Tribune penned a nice look into Brandon Marshall's life and past.

Kyle Wagner has an in-depth piece up on Deadspin that goes into how far away we are from being able to limit and protect players from concussions.

Conference commissioners meeting in Chicago have come to a consensus on a four-team playoff model to be submitted to university presidents for approval. There is still some talk about a "plus one" system, but that mostly seems to be disregarded as a favor to the Big 10 and Pac-12 commissioners. According to Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports, there will be a selection committee.

The Titans and safety Michael Griffin reached agreement on a five-year deal for $35 million, with $15 million of that guaranteed. Griffin probably isn't as good as the phrase "multiple Pro Bowler" would lead you to believe, but as a solid safety, he probably would have received this amount on the free market after the season. The Titans had franchised him earlier in the offseason. Tom Gower's take on the proceedings can be found here.
