Per Pro Football Talk, the Panthers have agreed to terms with defensive end Charles Johnson on a six-year, $76 million deal with $32 million in guaranteed money. $30 million of that guaranteed money will come as a signing bonus. Not bad for someone who had only started four games prior to the 2010 season.

It's always sure to start an argument when you use the term "bargain," so without further adieu, here are ten players who could be somewhat overlooked in free agency.

Hey, chumps and chumpettes. Did you get the bomb out? Can I go back to watching the sport I love?
Yes. Per Adam Schefter and the ESPN crew, all of the remaining problems have been ironed out. The likely scenario sees a press conference on Monday, and sets up free agency to begin next Saturday.

Take one step forward if you're a sports league that thinks it is through with courtroom battles for the time being. Not so fast, NFL.
Per TMZ, a number of retired players have seen their shadows and are suing the NFL, claiming that the league covered up just how damaging concussions are for the past 90 years. If I'm reading my chart correctly, I think that means at least six more years of well-meaning concussion commercials.

Bill Barnwell's latest for Grantland is a look at free agent groups that have traditionally yielded very poor results for buying teams. Regular readers of this site will not be surprised to see older running backs on the list.

One of the last hurdles in the way of a new CBA appears to be settling with the plaintiffs of Brady vs. the NFL. While most of the players involved don't have much of a reason to ask for special treatment, a pair of players embittered by the franchise tag are speaking up. Logan Mankins and Vincent Jackson are demanding to either become unrestricted free agents or be compensated a cool $10 million for their troubles landing a long-term deal with the Patriots and Chargers, respectively.

Blogging The Beast has a look at the average ages of each team's projected starting offensive line going into the 2011 season. Dallas, which had the oldest line last year, drops to sixth with the addition of Tyron Smith. The Giants, on the other hand, are projected to have the oldest starting five by an average of almost 20 months.
