Bengals Use Franchise Tag On Kicker

They may lose T.J. Houshmandzadeh to free agency, but they'll still have Shayne Graham, darn it. The Bengals were sixth in kicking for points in 2005, 11th in '06, eighth in '07, and 13th last year.

Do Not Deprive Jeff Reed Of Towels

Based on his Guy Fieri hairdo alone, Pittsburgh's Jeff Reed was already one of the most consistently entertaining kickers in the league. Now comes word that during a trip to a Pennsylvania convenience store at about 3 a.m., Reed discovered that the paper towel dispenser was empty. He responded by destroying said dispenser and cursing out the attendant. He's facing potential penalties of up to $300 in fines and -- seriously -- 90 days in jail.

So who should play Jeff Reed in the Jeff Reed movie? Johnny Knoxville? Adam Sandler? (He could redo the "lonesome kicker" song for the soundtrack.)

Jon Gruden Likes Tim Tebow

Jon Gruden discusses his offseason plans with the Orlando Sentinel, and has plenty of nice things to say about Tim Tebow and his chances of making it in the NFL. Leroy Hill Arrested On Drug Charges

Just one month before becoming an unrestricted free agent, and coming off perhaps his worst season, Seahawks outside linebacker Leroy Hill was arrested in Atlanta Saturday morning and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Hill was found by police passed out in his car. That's not the appalling part of the story. The appalling part: The car in question was a 1975 Buick Electra -- and its brake light was out. Hill was also cited for the faulty light.

Herm Edwards Fired; Shanahan May Take Over Chiefs

The Week In Quotes may never be the same.

I've always said that Edwards would be the next Pete Carroll: An NFL washout who is not so good at Xs-and-Os, but a guy with great charisma and recruiting ability who is better suited as a college coach.
