The force is strong with this one. Will Carroll gazes into the future at this season's big injuries, and just generally has fun with prognostication.

The Bills get their backups in order, the Jets get their chemistry in order, and the Dolphins get their offense in order. Or not. Will Carroll sits in for the AFC East's final version of Four Downs.

This week, O'Donoghue's Triad leaps from the pages of PFP 2005 to take down Andre Maddox and Boo Williams. Will Carroll also addresses a number of Green Bay injuries, takes on the Matt Birk situation, and makes more wrestling references than the average Scramble for the Ball.

Will Carroll thought he'd never have to write about another tragedy along the lines of Darryl Kile and Steve Bechler. He was wrong, which should remind all of us that we have a limited time here. The Black and Blue Report covers this week's less serious bumps and bruises, including a scare for Eli Manning and some karma for Julius Peppers.

In the latest edition of the Black and Blue Report, Will Carroll takes a tour of the training camps to give updates on some key injuries, including Quentin Griffin, Roddy White, Ronald Curry, and -- gasp! -- Tom Brady. (Relax, Pats fans, he's fine). Plus, a look at some new technology that's helping to keep players cool.

In the NFL, the pre-season injuries start before the pre-season games do. In the first regular edition of his new column on NFL injuries, Will Carroll looks at Marcus Spears, Duce Staley, Brandon Stokley, and more hamstrings than Miss Piggy's sweater.

We've finally dragged one of the Baseball Prospectus guys over to the dark side. Football Outsiders is proud to welcome to our staff award-winning writer Will Carroll, best known for the BP "medhead" column "Under the Knife." His new weekly column on NFL injuries will tell you not just how much time a player will miss, but why, and how the injury will affect his body when he returns. In his debut column, he explains why getting on the field doesn't mean Chad Pennington is all the way back, and delivers some bad news to Washington fans.
