FO is exploring the idea of a college football game charting project, concentrating at first on some subset of the six BCS conferences. We have a couple of NFL franchises interested in possibly partnering on the project, which would help us to pay people for charting. (It won't be a ton of cash, but no more volunteering this year.) Participants will also get use of the data for their blogs and personal research. If you may be interested, please e-mail us at info-at-footballoutsiders.com with "College Charting" as the subject. List where you live, what team and/or conference you tend to follow, and how much time per week you would be able to contribute to the project.
(P.S. As for the NFL charting project, 2009 game charting data will go on sale in the store soon, and last year's NFL game charters will get access at the same time.)
Thanks a lot, Dak Prescott. Now more people will think the fourth round is still a gold mine for quarterbacks, but the data says otherwise. The update to our quarterback draft study for 1994-2016 shows little has changed: finding a good QB is really hard.
