18 Games: Good Idea or Bad Idea?

It looks like it's in the pipeline.

But how does that make everyone here feel?

Hell yeah! When the NFL expands in the future, there are gonna games played overseas. To compensate that for home fans, there should be more games being played. :)

I've managed to get an article published about this topic on Yahoo Sports. It deals specifically with the issue of player safety, and how this can plausibly be reconciled with the 18-game schedule:

More games with bigger rosters = fine
More games with same number of guys dressed out = games 17+18 looking like the 4th game of the preseason

I don't really care if there's extra games, or if the league expands overseas. I'm most interested in seeing the most competitive, highest-quality football possible; I don't think two more games (with no other adjustments) brings us closer to that ideal.
