1960s Tom Matte's receptions

Tom Matte had a couple of huge seasons for a 1960s HB wrt receptions.

In 1963 and 1966 he had over 40 receptions.

Yds/reception were around 10-12 those years.

Does anyone know/remember what types of passes these were? Primarily screen passes?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I don't recall a lot of specific plays but I do know that Matte was a "jack of all trades" type player. He was not strictly a HB and filled in at other spots, even QB: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/when-an-nfl-team-turned-to-a-running-...

I suspect most of the passes were short passes in the flat and screens, but I would not be surprised to find out he lined up at TE or FL from time to time. See if you can find injury data for those seasons and see if other starters were out.
