Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
My running backs in a 1 PPR, 2 RB (w/ a WR/RB to add) league are as follows:
SJax, RBush, FJones, JStewart, JFargas. Not exactly great pickings; I'd really love to get a #2 RB I can plug in and feel comfortable with. I'm looking at Ladell Betts, Run DMC, and Tashard Choice as waiver pick-ups instead of Justin Fargas. Is Kolby Smith worth a try?
Fargas may even be a start this week against Kansas City...

Hey, while I'm at it... which WRs should I start (pick two)? Hester @SF, Burleson @ARI, Bowe @Oak? My immediate thoughts are with pleasant surprises Hester and Burleson, and Bowe has fallen out of favor with me. But Bowe put up 5 grabs for 56 yards and a TD against OAK in Week 2.
Thanks a bunch!
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
I went into the MNF game up 3 points, with Moreno and Scheffler still to go, and my opponent only had Jeff Reed. Three hours later, I had lost by one point. Should I just quit now, or should I dump my entire team to waivers first?
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
Start/Sit (PPR, 100-yard (and beyond) bonuses for RB/WR):
Pick 2:
Felix Jones (GB)
Darren McFadden (KC)
Mark Clayton (CLE)
Kelley Washington (CLE)
Bryant Johnson (MIN)
Pick 1:
Matt Hasselbeck (ARI) *still scarred by first game*
Matt Cassel (OAK)
Yes, my team is not very good. :(
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
Hasselbeck is the easy choice. As far as your WR/RB combos, the safest bet seems to be Washington and Jones... but it's hard to see them combining for more than 25 points :-(
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
I am trying to pick between Dwayne Bowe (@OAK) and Nate Burleson (@ARI) as my flex pick this week. The scoring system is PPR, 1 pt per 10 yards and 6 pts per touchdown.
Thanks!
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
Hester tonight vs SF or Calvin Johnson vs MIN Sunday(ESPN Standard/No PPR)? My first receiver is Randy Moss, with my number two, Steve Smith (NYG), on the bye, so the decision is between Hester's steady 8-12 type game or sky-is-the-limit upside of Megatron, with touchdowns in four of five career games vs the Vikes.
WWFOD?
Thanks.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
Tough one. I'd probably go with Hester absent any other information.
ESPN does give you projections for both teams, if I was projected to lose badly, I'd probably take a chance on Megatron.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
s. rice or mendenhall
Qb- alex smith
WR-R moss
WR-L Fitz
RB-R Brown
RB-R Rice
TE-Celek
WR/RB Harvin
WR/RB either S Rice or Mendenhall (i am torn on who to play)
K-longwell
D-denver
A Krueger
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
I'd play Mendenhall over Rice, but I'd play Rice over Harvin unless the league gives points for returns.
EDIT: And especially given that this is a PPR league. Rice is the #1 target in Minnesota.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
they do give points for returns.
makes it even harder to choose.
i wish there was one more slot and i wouldnt have to deal with this problem.

Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 10!
I'm in a touchdown heavy league (1pt for 25 yds rush/rec) and need to start two RB and two WR. this is a 10 team league...
RB- michael turner, ricky williams, thomas jones (also have beanie wells, choice)
Thomas Jones scares me. I keep expecting him to hit a wall, but he has been like a rock. Ricky is a little scary bc he's not the starter, but he has been lights out so far this year. But in the TD heavy format it gets risky.
WR- hines ward, d. bowe, m. sims-walker, manningham
Hines and Sims-walker are my normal starts, but bowe is interesting this week.
rest of the lineup:
QB Brady (cutler = bkup)
TE Celek
K Carney
D Broncos (chargers = bkup)
M.
