Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Your thoughts on Jackie Battle taking over Mike Tolberts role as TD Vulture in San Diego?
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
If anybody's the vulture, I still expect it to be Le'Ron McClain. I think there's a chance Mathews gets the goalline carries, and he did well on the goalline carries he got last year. On the general subject of SD backs, Mathews comes back this week, which very likely means somebody sits. McClain is the fullback and Ronnie Brown the third-down back, so they're active. Between Battle and Brinkley, Battle has special teams value, so my expectation is Brinkley is likely to sit this week.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Bowe
Demaryius
Colston
I like Bowe here @ NO because it has the potential to be a high scoring game and he will get targets.
Although DEN playing HOU on a short week makes Demaryius more risky, I am leaning towards him over Colston simply because Colston has yet to produce.
Pick two...
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Bowe for sure, especially given the Saints' defense this year. The Texans seem to be a much tougher matchup than the Chiefs, and there's a lot of uncertainty for me with Thomas-he could have a great day killing Kareem Jackson with slants or Johnathan Joseph could pretty much shut him down. Given that, I lean Colston instead, even though I'm a frustrated Colston owner as well.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
.5 ppr, 3 WR
Bowe, Colston, S. Johnson, Wayne. Which one rides the pine?
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Four good choices. I'd say Wayne, Bowe, and Stevie Johnson given Colston's mediocre productivity the first two weeks and some pretty juicy matchups.
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Need a starter out of my RB2 platoon for this week:
Stevan Ridley @BAL
Pierre Thomas vKC
Jonathan Stewart vNYG
Can't decide between Ridley and Thomas. Primary RB vs strong defense or committee RB vs weak defense?
Re: Ask the Scramble writers - Week 3!
Well, Stewart is questionable, so if he doesn't play Thursday your life is easy. If Stewart does play, I lean Thomas simply because I'm not yet at the point where I think Bill Belichick believes in Ridley and the running game enough to try to run the ball against a strong defense.
