Ask the Scramble writers - Week 9!

It's time for more bye week fun, and you need to make the crucial start/sit decision featuring guys like Davone Bess and Arrelious Benn! Don't worry, your Scramble writers are here to help! Post your questions below or hit the mailbag at Scramble -et- FootballOutsiders -dit- com.

Due to Wednesday afternoon post time, questions in this thread submitted by Tuesday evening are the ones that get answered in the column. If you have a question after that time, hit the mailbag address or use the column comments section.

I'll try to post when we scrape questions, so you know anything that posts after that I probably won't see until the next week.

I am considering starting Tebow. My options are Rothlisberger vs Ravens or Tebow vs Raiders. Rothlisberger is of course the superior player of the two but Ravens is a real tough matchup. Whereas the Raiders D sucks versus QBs, and despite Tebow's real life suckiness, he's actually put up decent fantasy numbers with all the running. And he can't really be worse than last week, right? Or do I give up on both these two and surf the waivers for an Alex Smith or Dalton type guy?

I consider Tebow BAD.

Go with Big Ben. (I'm starting him over Palmer/Tebow/etc. that I can find on waivers.) If I am going to cross my fingers and hope someone produces, I'd rather bet on a guy who has NFL talents, and has shown he can get the ball downfield rather than a guy who hasn't/can't, or some guys who just don't.

My current WR collection includes Nate Washington, Antonio Brown, Andre Johnson, and Robert Meachem. I get to start three of them, and since Meachem's absolutely worthless, I'm trying to figure out who his replacement should be. I've used Branch as an effective plug-in before and while he's inconsistent, I'm optimistic that NE will provide a revenge-beatdown in compensation for their dismal showing last week. Other available options include Doucet (although he might be gone by the time waivers subside) or Jonathan Baldwin, who might have good upside against Miami.

Also, any chance Chandler will be worth playing again this year, or should I drop him for Dustin Keller?

Need to decide between Mike Williams (TB) or Stevie Johnson. I hate starting anyone who will have Revis riding their jock the whole game. And I got a feeling that's what's going to happen to Stevie Johnson. Feels to me like a recipie for a 2 catch, 35 yard day. The problem is that Williams has been fairly awful...and so has Freeman...and so has the rest of the Bucs offense. Doesn't Williams have a better chance of somehow finding the endzone, or somehow breaking one against NO, where they will need to throw a ton? I mean - what are the odds that Johnson puts up anything of value against Revis? When was the last time Revis allowed a TD? A TD from outside 15 yards? How about the last 100 yard game against him? He aint human....Can I really start someone named STEVIE against him?
