Basically, is he worth one of my six bench spots this week when he has a bye or should I just drop him? Available TEs include Zach Miller, Marcedes Lewis, Visante Shiancoe, Vernon Davis, Heath Miller.

Depends on who else you'd be dropping and who you'd be picking up. I'd rather trade him than cut him, especially if you're in a PPR league, as his value is inflated by being Kolb's security blanket. Schedule gets a good deal tougher soon, too.
I almost said you'd be fine with whatever's on the wire next week, but all of those TEs have major question marks if they're any good at all. Davis could be a mirage, Shiancoe seems to have regressed despite playing with the oldest TE-loving QB in the league, and as talented as Zach Miller is, there's only so much he can do with no QB. The others have never been much good and likely never will. If I were you, I'd feel much more comfortable with Celek as my TE2, Kolb or no Kolb.
