Keep Charles...and Vick?

Keeper Question:

10 team standard scoring Keeper league

I can keep two players. If I keep a player, I lose the 9th pick in the first round, and if I keep a 2nd player I lose the 12th pick.

I have the following:
J Charles
S Jackson
M Vick
M wallace

Should I keep anyone outside of J Charles?

The main thing is that only 6 players were kept from the other teams. Here's the Draft order with kept players:
1.none
2.none
3.none
4.none
5.a peterson
6.a foster
7.none
8.t brady
9.j charles (me)
10.r rice
11.none
12.me
13.l fitzgerald
14.none
15.D mcfadden
16.none
17.none
18.none
19.none
20.none

If you buy the Vick hype, you have to keep him. If not, don't

Sage advice. He's a very polarizing player.

If you release Vick, you will get one of the following at that spot...
Vick
Rivers
Rogers
Brees
McCoy
Chris Johnson
Mendenhall

So....I guess it depends on how you like the other QB options vs the other RB options. If it were me, in a standard 10 team league, I'd let Vick go. There are QBs ranked in the bottom 10 that are still going to be very good. (Freeman, Romo, Manning, Schaub). If you go with Vick, you likely don't end up with a 2nd RB any better than Kubiak's Top 10 Position Rank - which leaves you Forte, Benson, Matthews, Greene, Gore.

I'd rather have Romo and McCoy or Johnson than Vick and Ryan Matthews...and if, worst case, you don't get McCoy, Johnson or Mendenhall, you still get Vick, Rogers, Rivers or Brees - all of whom you can easily argue will post comparable (or possibly better) seasons than Vick.

QB is deep in a 10 team league. I think you can afford to wait on that to have more options at RB, which isn't so deep relatively. And if you start 2 RBs and a flex, and if your scoring system suggest that RB is your best bet at the Flex, then it pushes me even more to that conclusion - that the RBs left would be better than Vick, thus worth the risk of possibly none of them being there, and Vick being gone, and you being "stuck" with Brees, Rivers or Rogers.

The worrying thing about Vick to me is that he is almost guaranteed to get injured. So you have to have a solid backup for him. That's a lot of resources to spend. I don't think I would keep him.

Really? I'd be comfortable picking up Vince Young late as insurance for Vick. It's worse with a RB where if they go down, the backup is likely to not be much more than average. And Vick's backup (VY) is better than most of the top 5 guys. (probably all of them except Flynn?) In fact, I'd put Vince Young today, if he were to be the starter in Philly, in the 21-26 ranking at the lowest, possibly higher, amongst QBs. If I were Tenn, Was, Oak, SF, Sea, Cin, KC and Mia, I'd feel pretty crappy that my starting QB is probably not as good as the guy carrying the clipboard for Mike Vick.

I ended up not keeping VICK. Appreciate all the input.

Thanks!

So how did it play out? Who did you get with that pick, and who was your next pick?
