Sit Start: Week 1

Standard scoring except for .5 PPR, .15 points per completion (for QB's), 3 bonus points for 100 yards rushing, receiving, or 250 yards passing, and 2 more bonus points for 150 yards rushing, receiving or 350 yards passing. I'm having trouble deciding on these 3 spots:

1 QB:

I've got Matt Schaub (vs. Jets) and Big Ben (vs. Titans).

I had originally thought Schaub was the easy choice but one site I read said to start Ben. Maybe I'm overrating the Titans D without Haynsworth and underrating th Jets D under Rex Ryan. Am I overthinking this?

1 RB and 1 RB/WR:

So this is two spots from this pool of players, but at least one must be a RB.

Knowshon Moreno (@ Bengals), Lendale White (@ Steelers), Leon Washington (@ Texans), Jamaal Charles (@ Ravens) Donald Driver (vs. Bears), Kevin Curtis (@ Panthers), Deion Branch (vs. Rams)

So Moreno would probably be a lock but I'm not sure how his injury will affect his playing time. Lendale White seems like he should be eliminated because of his matchup. Is Washington a better play than Moreno, or Driver as a flex? Branch is probably the worst receiver here but he also has the best matchup.

Anyone have any advice?

The QB one is a tough call. I have to go with Schaub. I do think the Titans' defense will suffer a lot without Haynesworth but even in good matchups Ben is hit or miss fantasy-wise.

For the other, I think you have to start Moreno, but I hesitate to eliminate White as you do. The Titans aren't a bad team, and they'll get at least a couple of opportunities. If you are really gun-shy about the Steelers' defense then go with Driver, but in general I always try to start an RB in a flex spot.

My reasoning for not going with White is that Chris Johnson usually gets the majority of the carries when the game is on the line and this game doesn't figure to be a blowout unless the Steelers just dominate, but in that case the Titans won't run the ball much anyways. On top of that the Titans aren't likely to get in the redzone much because of the Steelers defense and obviously a huge part of White's value is his TD's.

I just think if I start White I'll be hoping that the 1 or 2 times the Titans get in the red zone White happens to get the carry if they score, whereas Driver should put up decent numbers mostly no matter what. But I'm still trying to decide.

Ben Roethlisberger had 2 interceptions and 4 fumbles against the Titans last year when Haynesworth wasn't playing. He'll do better this time around, but you should absolutely start Schaub in week 1.

As far as running back. There are 3 teams you should never start a running back against: Minnesota, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. You're in a PPR league so I would definitely start Donald Driver as your flex. I have Moreno in two leagues and am wondering the same thing you are. My philosophy is that I want to wait to see what happens in week 1 with him before I go starting him. That pretty much leave you with Washington as your starter.
