Stories from the Draft

The league commish who set passing TDs to 6 points, drafted Drew Brees in Round 1, and then mocked anyone who drafted a read-option QB for "not understanding the scoring system".

The guy who drafted Michael Turner late and then chatted "I can't believe Turner fell to round 9! Go Falcons!"

The guy who rearranged all his draft rankings, then live drafted anyway, but forgot to reset his rankings back to default, and wound up reaching for every player by 2-3 rounds.

The guy who drafted the Baltimore defense in the 8th round, because it's the same D that won the Super Bowl, right?

The guy who played around in the draft, found Hernandez was listed, joked about it, then accidentally drafted him.

Anything interesting happen in your drafts?

A couple of outdated cheat sheet readers. Jeremy Maclin got drafted, by the same guy who'd spent a pretty early pick on Dennis Pitta...

One auction league I'm in awards 2-3 times the usual for point allowed on D eg. 30 pts for shutout, and it suckered guys into some large figures being spent. eg. Seahawks D went for $21. Compared to the $1 that the Packers, Jets and Giants went for they'd want to be amazing.

Someone fat fingered 113 out of a 200 budget for Russell Wilson. As the league commish I reset the auction no fewer than 3 times to rectify this.

First reset, person nominates wilson again and the bids fly and he goes for 25 bucks. BUT the next nomination is wilson again!

So upon 2nd reset, someone whose client crashed auto bid for wilson to 25 dollars.

I reset it again. On third reset finally everything goes off without a hitch. 15 minutes of my life I'll never have back but thank god yahoo had an undo feature for picks.
