Where does Kaepernick fit in the Fantasy QB hierarchy?

- The hype (tattoos don't score points)
- Sophomore slump (a year of tape will help teams catch up on his tendencies)
- Extrapolating from last year's stats (does 10 games provide a representative look?)
- 49ers have lost Crabtree, Walker, Manningham and Willians at WR and only gained Boldin (pending a rookie miracle who will he throw to?)
- Not from a NFL college
- 49ers are a "run first" team
- 49ers will not let him run as much as last year (see RG3)

I guarantee somebody in my league takes Kaepernick in the 1st or second round...are they brilliant or idiots?

My opinion is he's in the middle-bottom of the second tier. I think the loss of his receivers will have more of an impact on his FF production than any of the other issues. Yes, the 49ers run, but he's a part of that running game. I, personally, would be happy drafting him in rounds 5-7.

Even if Kapernick lives up to the hype I think the person drafting him in the first round can't turn our brilliant as he'd probably be available in the 3rd.

Scoring matters, of course. My office league has passing TDs worth 6 points, which devalues the running QBs relative to the others. But even with standard scoring I wouldn't have drafted him before round 5. QB is really deep this year.
