Raiders sign Matt Jones. Not taking the piss, just always thought he had good physical tools, and it wouldn't hurt for Oakland to give him a shot.

Raiders dont need M Jones. Already have great Qr corps. c Schilens, Walker, HeywardBay, Higgins Shields, Murphy alomgn bets WR corpses in league. Cardinals, Seelers, Patrios, Packers other teams with good wrs.
early preidiction is Raiders go 11-5 and win Afc West division in 2099 seaosn.

Your typos make your predictions MORE accurate.

This has got to be a joke.

No, I'll say that seems about right. At that time, Heyward-Bey will probably have lost some speed, but you just cannot argue with the veteran savvy of a 90-year veteran. Besides, by then JaMarcus Russel will have figured out how to spot a zoneblitz, and with 10 years of experience with reading the cover-2 he'll be an all-pro candidate. P-O-W-E-R-H-O-U-S-E ! ! !

Anyone else completely unable to make heads or tails of "alomgn"? I can usually sort out raiderjoe's typos, but that one's beyond me.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "among."

At first, I assumed RaiderJoe's recitation of the "WR corpses" was one of his typical typographical gaffes. Then, I realized: no, its exactly what he meant. I haven't seen any of the captioned athletes in the past two months, and if you've seen Walker run in the last year-and-a-half, Zombiehood cannot be ruled out. Think about it; the club is run by a corpse, why not field a team of corpses, ala the ghost ship in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. And have no doubt, in 2099, Al Davis will still be the Managing General Partner of the Raiders. And goats throughout the world will be highly anemic.

In fairness to RaiderJoe, the Random House Dictionary (as opposed to the targeted house dictionary) gives "corpse" as a synonym for "corps". It also includes the designation "obsolete". You know, like the Raiders! {buh DUM puh}. Thank you! Be sure to tip your servers!

For the Saints, Derrick Brooks.

Agree, Sophandros. They HAVE TO have sniffed around him. WLB is probably the Saints weakest position on D, esp. after Dan Morgan re-retired. Have to believe that either a) he wants more money than the Saints will/can offer; or b) he wants to start, and Coach Payton won't guarantee him that. Unfortunately for us Saints fans, he will probably retire.

Assuming he's at all physically able to play, I'd like to see the Steelers sign John Runyon to a one year deal.

I like that fit. Giving the Steelers a much needed O-line starter and giving Runyan a shot at a title. Match made in heaven...

He wouldn't be a starter, but I'd love to see Vonnie Holladay back in a Packers uniform. He'd be ok as a backup DE and occasional starter, and pretty useful in any rotation. He was never a great pass rusher, so I don't think he'd have any problems with their transition to a 3-4 defense where the DE role is more a space filler. I also would like them to resign Mark Tauscher at OT. He's coming off injury and probably won't be available until midseason, but he's always been a surprise and I don't have a lot of confidence in any of the current RT replacement candidates.

BRETT FAVRE.

Any team could use him at any position.

I would pay good money to see Favre starting at CB for the Denver Broncos.

They don't really need him and (because) he hasn't been the same guy for almost 2 years, but sentimentally... Marvin Harrison.

If any of the Broncos backs left over from the previous regime hit the market in a healthy state, I would hope the Texans at least kick his tyres. My faith in Chris Brown is, um, limited. In fact, I'd say undrafted rookies Jeremiah Johnson and Arian Foster both have a better chance of being useful in the rotation behind Slaton than Brown does. And that's not because I think that either of them is some kind of diamond in the rough, who the scouts somehow missed.

Derrick Brooks ? How Old is Derrick Brooks ?

I want to see Plax on the Jets -- but doubt it will happen, and to be quite honest -I dont know if he is an available free agent so this may not be relevant. But hey -- I still want him on the Jets... besides, think of all the jokes when they go to a shotgun formation & throw bullet passes.

I like the Lions to bring in Travis LaBoy, they need the defensive end depth and he is not terrible.

Of course then I go and read that he had ankle surgery in May that could threaten his season. I guess the Lions are looking at Holliday and Kevin Carter instead for a reason.
