Glad it's here. Also happy to point out the first correction: Todd Bradford is Maryland's new coordinator on defense, not offense. I only know because he ran Southern Miss's defense into the ground last year.
YAY, this is just as good as the lockout ending today.

Re: WOO FOA2011
Looking forward to the Almanac.
Any KUBIAK updates? Is it still on track for a release today?
Re: WOO FOA2011
Any word on the release date for the Almanac? My draft is coming up and I haven't done any homework!!!
Re: WOO FOA2011
"fertile drafts" made me think, automaticaly, of Antonio Cromartie....
Re: WOO FOA2011
Hooray! Can't wait for the hard copy now. Last year's copy is dog-eared as all hell.
Re: WOO FOA2011
Seconded!
Hope I can order it from Amazon or the 2007 version I even got it from the dutch website bol.com
Whoo hoo can't wait.
Re: WOO FOA2011
Hey, enjoying the book tremendously, but a quick question if anyone is more familiar with the book than I:
Is there anywhere in the book where the projected team DVOA for 2011 is listed? They reference it all the time in the predictions and everything, but I can't seem to find the numbers--do they save that for later, usually?
Re: WOO FOA2011
DVOA is a number that looks back at the performance of someone - or a unit - and then calculates a number to value the performance.
(He did X and compared to Y and Z that means his number is A)
So it's per definition a number that looks back, not looks ahead.
Re: WOO FOA2011
Wait, but they do actually project, right?

Re: WOO FOA2011
Don't believe it's in the book. I checked my copy of FOA2010 and didn't see it in there, and doubt we added it to this year's edition. There's an internal version we used to guide us in writing the book, but the version used to generate the win projections is updated even from that.
Re: WOO FOA2011
We normally run projected DVOA ratings on the site in the days before the season begins.
Re: WOO FOA2011
Why is there never a chart displaying projected wins for the league? It's irritating trying to find context for your figures and put them into context. Actually, league average figures would generally be more welcome.
Love the book though, NFC West projections are rather dismal but probably spot on.
Re: WOO FOA2011
I as a colts fan am very sad and dejected after reading
Re: WOO FOA2011
The Chiefs article has a lot of assuming in it with regards to Haley and their offensive style. It doesn't really suit you guys too well.
Re: WOO FOA2011
How long does it take to receive the download (I received the PayPal receipt already)?
Re: WOO FOA2011
You should see a big button on the left side of the page reading "MY FO DOWNLOADS." Click that.
Re: WOO FOA2011
What does everyone think of the Steelers projection? That's my team, but 13.0 wins? And 92% chance of 11+ wins? They're fortunate to play the NFC West, and the AFC South with the Colts primed for a decline. But it seems high from a probability standpoint. I'm crossing my fingers, but I don't know...
Re: WOO FOA2011
I've been patiently awaiting the hard copy, as a wanted to purchase two books as birthday presents and .pdf files aren't particularly thrilling gifts. Is there any way to purchase the books from a bricks-and-mortar store or another online retailer where i won't have to wait (at minimum) nine days for the book to arrive?
Re: WOO FOA2011
No. The hard copy books are print-to-order -- in other words, your individual copy of the book literally does not exist until you order it, and only then do they start printing.
If we were still selling the book in stores, this year, after the lockout, we'd be lucky to get them on shelves before Halloween.
Re: WOO FOA2011
Thanks for letting me know!
