Here are the fourth annual FO midseason projections. This year, projections say the surprise team of the second half will be Chicago -- and not in a good way.

This week: New England and Baltimore begin to close the gap between the Gang of Four and the rest of the league, the Seahawks fall into the loser's bracket, and bad days for Philadelphia and Pittsburgh can't make their past games disappear. Plus a note on suggestion ettiquette, and further exploration of fumble recoveries. Commentary now available on FOXSports.com.

Chicago moves back into the top spot of this week's DVOA ratings, while the Giants make this year's Treacherous Three into a Gang of Four. Lots of good teams are packed closely together, but why is 2-4 Pittsburgh ahead of three 5-1 teams and the undefeated Colts? That's explained in the FOXSports.com commentary.

Chicago may have pulled out the victory, but their offensive ineptitude means a major tumble in our DVOA ratings, leaving the Bears slightly behind the San Diego Chargers. Plus: Three NFC East teams in the top six, and Pittsburgh becomes the latest team to leap up the charts after a blowout win. Commentary now available on FOXSports.com.

If Rex Grossman played da Packers by himself, how many points would he win by? If Brian Urlacher was battling a hurricane, who would win? What if da name of da hurricane was "Hurricane Ditka?" Plus: Am I having another heart attack? These are da questions we must ask after looking at da latest DVOA ratings. Commentary found here on FOXSports.com.

Chicago and San Diego are atop the league, both in DVOA for 2006 and the early-season DAVE formula. Also leaping up this week: Kansas City, Dallas, and Washington. UPDATE: Commentary now available on FOXSports.com.

Idle San Diego takes the top spot this week. The Saints move way up after stomping the Falcons, but our new system that combines early results with preseason projection is still somewhat skeptical. It's Dave's fault, really. UPDATE: Commentary is finally available on FOXSports.com.

Two games played, two sets of DVOA ratings. One represents 2006 only, while the other is our new rating that combines 2006 with the preseason projection. Baltimore rules the roost in one, Seattle in the other. Freedom of choice is what you want, freedom of choice is what you've got. UPDATE: Commentary is now found here on FOXSports.com.
