"Everybody in the world thinks I can't kick anymore since I struggled the last few years, but that's not the case. I've been kicking, and it feels great. We're still building my leg power for field goals and kickoffs, but other than that, I feel 100 times better than I have in a while."

So, other than field goals and kickoffs, he's good to go?

the eagles ought to at least take a look at him.

I was stunned that the Lions didn't even bring him in for a tryout when Jason Hanson got hurt. Instead, Matt Millen, in his infinite wisdom, signed Remy Hamilton, who had never kicked in the NFL before. Hamilton attempted one kick, an extra point, and missed.

C'mon MDS, were you really stunned by a shaky Matt Millen personnel decision? That would be stunning.

By "stunned" I didn't mean surprised so much as I meant dazed or rendered senseless, as if by a blow. Sometimes being a Lions fan feels like you just got hit in the face with a two-by-four.

MDS, don't forget to watch nfl game of the week lions vs. bucaneers on thursday for a full hour of the joey harrington experience.

I want a Bill Gramatica update. Then I want to see Sauerbraun tag team with Vinatieri (for stealing the automatic nickname) to take on the Gramaticas.

The high point of the match is when Sauerbraun's head explodes from the 'roids and the Gramaticas both suffer the Terrible Triad while celebrating, thus leaving Vinatieri to make 20 more clutch kicks to seal the game.

Can't we talk about REAL players here?
C'mon. Some guys can't even kick off (Vanderjagt) and if Akers goes down, who is the next kicker? The punter maybe? Nooooo, the TE/longsnapper (who couldn't kick either) and some middle linebacker.

In haiku:
The punter can't kick!
The punter can only punt!
Just kick the damn ball!

Cue guitar in reverse, turn on the black light, pass the Doritos and enjoy.

How dare you guys disrespect these teams with bad kickers by suggesting they look for somebody better! Worry about your own teams!
