Eli Manning injured his elbow on Saturday night during a pre-season game and the Giants are "very concerned." Manning underwent an MRI, but the full results won't be available until Monday. If Eli's elbow injury is serious, it will be another long season in the Meadowlands for the Giants.

Minor weaknesses dot these teams. Except for Arizona, which needs to bring in more help to really run Bruce Arians' offense.

Oops.
Good job ditching that Kurt Warner fellow.
Bet Coughlin feels like an idiot if Arizona rips it up.
Well, no worries if Eli is out...they have Tim Couch ready to go!
There's also always Bob Sofa.
Too bad they don't have Ron Dayne to use for trade bait.
This really doesn't sound serious at all. Julius Peppers just managed to poke the ball out before Manning threw and the injury was caused solely by Manning following through on the throw without the resistance normally offered by the ball. This can cause a slight hyperextension of the elbow, but unless it is done repeatedly, there is next to no chance of injury.
Free Vinny Testaverde! Free Jeff George!
Jeff George does throw a pretty ball. Frequently right to the defender, but pretty none the less.
I guess this speeds up the timetable for Jason Whitlock's annual "Jeff George should be starting in this league" article.
For those keeping score at home, quarterbacks suffer disproportionately high rates of elbow injuries, compared to other players on the field.
Although only about five QBs every year go on the injury list with an elbow injury, that's still good for about double the league average when you consider the number of men under center.
The highest number of elbow injuries, of course, go to offensive linemen, who are required to hold their arms out to snare blitzers and protect the QB before he throws.
Who suffers the least number of elbow injuries? Cornerbacks and wide receivers. So much for all that "incidental contact" hurting elbows, shoulders and arms as players jostle downfield.
Oh man, I love that article...
Never fear Gothamites! Chad Hutchinson is available for pennies on the dollar!!
Myself, I'd be concerned about his head, and possibly also his stomach.
With Blake signed by Chicago, I think Kordell Stewart is the top unsigned QB.

Wow. I'd never dream I would see "Kordell Stewart" and "top QB" in the same place.
"I think Kordell Stewart is the top unsigned QB"
I can think of five that don't suck quite that much.
Testaverde
Couch
Chris Redman
Jeff George
Even Quincy Carter
Hell I'd rather dig f'n Neil O'Donnell out of retirement or try some random Arena League QBs...
According to the Giants training staff this morning, he has a sprain and bruise inside the elbow, and they're calling his status "week to week" (see link). Scary, yes, but he'll probably be ready for the opener. Missing the practices will hurt, though.
Perhaps a bigger concern should be Will Peterson's sprained MCL (see bottom of article). He is a top-flight corner, and although their depth is pretty good at the position, he will be missed if he is slowed or has to sit in Week 1 (especially because they're up against the Cards, who'll be playing a lot of 3-wide).
Hey, look on the bright side. If the injury is that serious this time next year D-Brick could be a New York Football Giant.
#16:
Wow, someone hates Kordell Stewart.
Still, I'd have to agree that Testaverde is by far my top choice. He probably won't last the season, but when he goes down, then you sign Kordell Stewart.
#19: Correct.
There's always Dieter Brock.
"If Eli’s elbow injury is serious, it will be another long season in the Meadowlands for the Giants."
It's going to be a long season in the Meadowlands as long as Eli is the qb. He is going to make the Dave Brown era look like Otto Graham in the 50's.
Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. I think he should have kept his name as Clay rather than Eli.
Hey, New York! Trade us a pick for Rohan Davey! He's good, seriously. We drafted him, so he must be. We'll even give him to you for the low price of a 2nd round pick.
Signed,
The Patriots

I bet someone send an email to the Steelers:
"That Tommy Maddox guy... is he good in even or odd years?"
