McAllister Likely Out for Season

FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that New Orleans' running back Deuce McAllister has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of this season.

Is it just me, or does that feel-good win over Carolina seem like it took place about three years ago?

Matt Leinart should start negotiating his deal with the Saints right now.

Retards should stop repeating the same stupid joke right now.

Aaron Stecker waiver run this week. They also have Antowain Smith, but I'd expect Stecker to get the majority of the touches.

When it rains, it pours.

Damn.

So the leading 3 teams for first pick right now are NO, Bal and Hou?

But but but at the beginning of the year, everybody was assuming it would be Cle, Mia or SF.

I didn't know who it would be, but I knew it wouldn't be SF, Mia or Cle. It's pretty rare (even in the pre-cap/free agency NFL) for a team to earn the #1 draft pick in consecutive years.

Wasn't Stecker a solid stopgap the last time McAllister was hurt?

I would not count out San Francisco just yet from having the 1st pick-no offensive TDs in 2 games..defense is playing decent, but not enough to win them games on their own. No running game, Alex Smith is apparently not close to ready, and so on. It might be a steady crash downhill for the 49ers.

Don't you think "When it rains, it pours." is an insensitive cleche' right now in regards to New Orleans?;)

Retards should stop repeating the same stupid joke right now.

They're not making stupid jokes; they're arguing about who's the worst team in the league.

On the other hand, I don't know these other guys, or specifically their mental capabilities, so they may actually be retarded.

I think that as a New Orleans native, I get a free pass when it comes to that. :)

Matt Leinart should start negotiating his deal with the Cardinals right now.

My tongue was in my cheek, I'm not overly sensitive.

Matt Leinart should start making his negotiations with the devil right now...so he won't have to play for the Ravens, Saints, Texans, or Niners. Arizona would be okay though, at least from a qbs perspective...ok, this is off topic...but am I the only one who sees a striking resemblance between Carson Palmer and Cap Rooney (Dennis Quaid Any Given Sunday) wow. they look exactly alike.

Right now, San Fran has the fast track for two reasons
1.) Worst defense in the NFL, despite takeaways, gives up SO MANY yards.
2.) Alex Smith...not only are they forfeiting their season by starting him, but they are taking every precaution to make absolutely sure that he indeed does suck before they invest a number one pick in him. And who says Reggie Bush won't go number one anyway?...if its the Niners...or Saints, or Cardinals, maybe its more reasonable.

I don't think San Fran would take Leinart. I can't believe Houston would. Not sure if Baltimore would want to start over with a rookie (what if they had kept Dilfer after the Super Bowl?)

Would the Saints take Leinart? Maybe.

Arizona? Maybe, but McCown has been decent in just 2 games this year.

On some radio show (NFL Radio maybe) they were predicting that the Packers would take Leinart if they ended up with the #1 pick. What the hell?

Also, at this time last year, I don't think ANYBODY had Alex Smith rated as the #1 pick in the draft, so maybe it's not yet time to assume that it's going to be Leinart.

I don't think the Texans or Ravens will be drafting #1. Packers, 49ers, and a few other teams will battle it out.

As for Deuce:

I never did figure out why New Orleans signed up washed-up Antowain and then started giving him a bunch of carries each week.

I seem to recall Carl and Aaron suggesting that maybe, just maybe, putting all that guaranteed money on a mediocre running back at a position with such a heavy injury toll might be a bad idea.

I also seem to recall they were lambasted as idiots.

Tick tock. Tick tock.

tick tock?????

I don't think anybody lambasted you as idiots.

Is a torn ACL an injury from repetitive use or just a bad cut, bad luck?

The Saints traded a conditional 7th rounder to Miami --- for Jesse Chatman.

Len P. has the story on ESPN.
