What Football Outsiders projected-leading-rusher curse?
Frank Gore's broken a bone in his hand and is likely to miss a good portion of the preseason.
In all seriousness, this shouldn't drop him any on your board. Broken bones don't linger, and Gore should be ready for the regular season.

Mike and Tom play nice for once and highlight a few commercials that made them smile. Plus: prop bet results, the FO Staff Playoff League, and the results of our first ever Playoff Fantasy Challenge!

Gore is a beast. He will be ready in time.
injuries have always been the big scare-factor with gore. that's how i got away with drafting him in FF so late last year. a broken hand isn't like a seperated shoulder though so it's prob not a big deal.
A running back with fumbling problem breaks a bone in his hand? The comments write themselves.
Both knees and both shoulders.
A judo instructor can tell this guy how to fall without tearing everything.
At least Gore will be back. Chad Scott is out for the season for the Pats -- wonder if that will affect the Asante Samuel deal, or if, as many speculate, he'll be in camp soon.
You guys can do whatever you want, but the moment I heard Chad Scott broke his hand, I put an extra $500 on the Patriots to win it all. That's the best improvement the Patriots have made all offseason.
I have no idea why I wrote "Chad Scott broke his hand." It's only 8:15 AM and I'm not drunk. You can safely ignore that.
I'm heavily counting on Gore for my dynasty league season. I recently traded away LJ on that team because of the injury risk, so I don't have the depth to take him missing time (Westbrook is my 2nd RB).
I'm a Pats fan, but my fiancee is a Niners fan, so bad injury news for both of us. :-(
This could actually help Gore. RB's break down through overuse, and without a whole lot of hope for a top tier passing offense this season, Gore is likely to get used a lot. So saving him some training camp reps might actually be a good thing. And maybe a tender hand will force him to concentrate more on not fumbling... or maybe that's wishful thinking...
Say what you like about Chad Scott, but he's a competent backup, and with the why the Patriots go through DB's, they can never have too many backups. Their current approach thus far has been to play Brandon Merriweather exclusively at CB in camp...interesting idea, if it works out they would have a player considered an excellent CB prospect (Wilson) playing safety, and an excellent S prospect playing CB.
Must be the Pro Football Prospectus Curse.
I love how he plays and keep hoping he can put the injury bug behind him. All things considered, this could be much worse.
"Broken bones don’t linger"
Try telling that to Sean Alexander.
Well, I'm glad it happened NOW, rather than, oh, in the fourth game of the preseason, but damn, I don't want Gore to be hurt at all.
Linger or not, when a guy with a history of injuries injures himself, it's not a good thing.
Chris Samuels is hurt for the Deadskins too. They were so lucky to have minimal injuries on their Oline last year ( considering 4/5 were coming off surgeries). Now the Deadskins lose Dockery and Samuels is already hurt. Yesssss
Samuels will be healthy to play for the regular season, and he's enough of a veteran that he doesn't need camp as much as some. I'm not too worried about him. If this is the Skins' worst preseason injury, they are in good shape.
maybe this means gore will drop to me at #6 pick... YES!
