CNNSI's Bucky Brooks looks at some of the strategies that paid off in Week 8, including the Colts running Carolina out of their two-deep zone, the Browns beating pressure by exploiting a matchup edge on the outside, and Tennessee simply putting their best defensive lineman up against Robert Gallery and then sitting back to watch the ensuing carnage.

Offensive line problems highlight the needs in the NFC North ... except in Chicago, which is kind of unsettling to think about.

• The Jaguars used the blitz to force Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia into uncharacteristic turnovers. Defensive coordinator Mike Smith called a variety of five-man pressures with a few delayed blitzes to harass Garcia in the pocket. Aaron Glenn's early interception came off a five-man pressure and Reggie Nelson's game-clinching pick was the result of a delayed blitz that forced Garcia to rush his throw."
Actually Reggie Nelson's game-clinching pick was the result of a Rashean Mathis hit which knocked the ball loose after Garcia had completed a pass for a first down at about the Jags 35 yard line.
Re: 1
Yeah, it was actually a great throw by Garcia and a great defensive play by Rashean to break it up. He was playing lights out in coverage yesterday.
Best tackle of the game though was Sammy Knight telling Nelson to get his butt on the ground after the interception and end the game.
1: I said "completed" but of course it couldn't have been completed or it woudl have been a fumble recovery for Nelson. The receiver (Galloway?) had it in his hands but hadn't obtained possession yet.
#2:
Actually, he was burned a couple of times (I think it was him) but Garcia overthrew deep. Other than that he was very good though.
Yeah, great tackle by Knight !!!
I instantly thought to TMQ watching this !
OK this was quite good, but did New Orleans really run a "double reverse"? Or is this another 'expert' who doesn't know the difference?
Re: 6
That's the very first question I had, too.
BTW, I'm really glad FO started linking to this column.
