So, are there so many quality punters out playing golf that the Jets announce they've cut Graham without having signed anyone?

Or have they been listening to TMQ and have decided to eschew punting for the entire season?

Well, they played without a kicker a couple weeks ago and won. Ergo, play without a punter and you also win. It's ironclad logic!

Graham looked to be on his way out at the end of last season. He was deactivated for the Week 16 game due to a "coach's decision" after a poor game against the Patriots (one punt blocked, one touchback), though he was reactivated for the season finale.

Graham was also the holder for field goals and extra points, but never looked comfortable with it. I wonder if that (and the two short FGs the Jets have missed) had anything to do with his release.

They signed Reggie Hodges to the active roster, and Waylon Prather, another punter, to the practice squad.

Mangini pointed out in his press conference that Hodges can also place kick; remember what happened in week 1 when Nugent went down.
