Urban Meyer Steps Down at Florida

Urban Meyer is apparently leaving the University of Florida because of some sort of health problems. Absolutely shocking. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume this actually is a health issue, not him leaving for another job. If he wanted to leave for an NFL job, wouldn't he just, you know, leave specifically for an NFL job?

I'm sorry, part of me just has to laugh that the Florida job opened right after someone FINALLY hired Charlie Strong. (Though best wishes to Meyer and all that, of course.)

Apparently Charlie Strong only has a term sheet signed, not a contract at this point.

It seems like less of a shock to me because he almost seemed checked out mentally by the SEC championship game.

ESPN reports a "heart muscle defect". Cardiomyopathy? This really sucks if it indeed is something that dramatically shortens life expectancy. If, on the other hand, it means he spends a lot more time with his family for the next 40 years, that ain't the worst thing that could happen to a guy.

People who get multiple divorces throw off the stats. It's not as bad as it seems.

No, good chance Cincinnati Bearcars keep game close. Is even possible that they beat gators outright. Score could be like 35-30 or 28-27. yeah, good chance of that

I am thinking Raiders, Vikings, Colts, Patriots, Giants, Cowboys, Saints... Nebraska in their bowl game... I am thinking the Seahawks and Bills can cover their spreads, and though the Bengals, 49ers, and Cardinals are all 12-14 point favorites, they may cover the spreads anyway but those are tough calls. Staying away from Den/Phi, Bal/Pitt, and Mia/Tex for now.

agree with Raiders, Viks, Pates, Giants, cowobys, saints, cornhuskers. Prefer Jets think they can win or at leats keep gmae close. .
Took Cardinals to coevr. Tough to tkae Bengals and 49es to cover, but of course Bengals playing crappy chiefs. going to win but could be low scorer like 20-10.

Is the Shanahan deal with the Redskins 'done'? Because if it's not, I'll wager he's very interested in this job. He was a few years ago, and likely still would be. Wouldn't it be a better gig than pretending to listen to Dan Snyder?

I would be so happy if Shanahan went to the SEC and stayed out of the NFL. I wouldn't want the Broncos to have to play him.

Just heard on CBS that Urban Meyer is changing his mind about retiring and will instead take an indefinite leave of absence.

I won great money on the Pats & SD but lost on the Ravens +2.5 ( shoulda bought the hook) & sadly the Giants, and had 4 out of 5 on a parlay hit so it was a good week ( went big on SD & Pats) and not a great week.

Nothing like 2 weeks ago when I went 6-0 and made bank.
