Just three days after signing with the Ravens to ostensibly replace the recently retired Derrick Mason, former Titans and Rams receiver Drew Bennett has himself retired due to a persistent knee injury. The retirement was first reported on Adam Schefter's Twitter page.

Re: Drew Bennett Retires
And NFL.com still has the headline of "Ravens look to WR Bennett to fill Mason void."
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
Mason now dramatically unretires?
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
What's going on in Baltimore? I mean as a Steeler fan I'm OK with how everybody seems to want out of there, but it's getting weird.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
the ravens will overcome. I still have them as the best team in that division. of course, from top to bottom there isn't a team in that division with good receivers anymore.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
The Steelers are also in that division. So the Ravens are the second best.

"The Steelers are also in that division. So the Ravens are the second best."
The Steelers had .5% more DVOA, while the Ravens were one of the most injury plagued team and a rookie QB. So these two teams were roughly equal, and the Ravens could easily be better next year.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
I'm not saying they're the best team in the division, but have you taken a look at Cincinnati's WR corps recently?
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
Yes, they've got to love practice there.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
Other than the two recent Super Bowl MVP receivers on the Steelers.
FWIW, FO has Ward as 7th in DYAR last season; 10th in DVOA
(I also like the Eagles)
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
I'm not saying the ravines have the best receivers in the division. I just don't think there's a truly dangerous receiver group in that division. The steelers, ravens, and bengals are all run first at this point for a reason.
Ward is a pale shadow of the receiver he was 5 years ago, and holmes is coming off an awful year and doesn't have elite physical skills. Chad Johnson and Coles have big names but were both awful last season and both are into their 30s and the downsides of their careers.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
But he had those two games in that one season like 4 years ago, so he's obviously still an elite receiver.
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
How do your doctors let you sign a guy whose knees are bad enough that he is even considering retirement?
Re: Drew Bennett Retires
Is this going to be like Seattle last year? Only instead of eveyr reciever they sign geting just hurt they get hurt enough to retire....
