Bob Sanders To IR
Colts safety Bob Sanders becomes the second member of the secondary to be placed on injured reserve this week. Sanders tore his biceps tendon in Week 1.
Sanders will have missed 39 of 49 possible starts since he signed a contract extension in December of 2007.

Any chance the Colts cut him at the end of the season? I'd love to see him in a Patriots uniform (if he could stay healthy of course).

They kept Sanders on the roster for 'if'. But now they're signing Dominic Rhodes.
Oh and is Sanders potential UFL material or is he Raider fodder?

I don't think so. He's been supposed to come back for several weeks now...clearly it just isn't going to happen so they are using his spot for someone that might actually help the team. Might have been a good idea 2 years ago, but that's a little picky ;o)

They were hoping to keep him on the roster until the playoffs, but all the other injuries on the team meant keeping him was a luxury they could no longer afford. For example they don't have even one healthy runningback.

Somebody's going to sign him to a cheap contract and he'll somehow play in at least half of their games for a 2-3 year stretch. It'll be great value and the media pundits will say the Colts were idiots for letting him go. Then he'll have one major catastrophic injury and that'll be it for his career.
