Yes, it was Torain, and he had himself a decent game. Keiland Williams has also already been on the active roster this year, so it wouldn't surprise me if he he makes a few more appearances.

It's neither hilarious nor sad. It was utterly predictable if you followed Shanahan's career in Denver.

I've been a Redskins fan for about as long as I've been able to read, and this weekend will be my first opportunity to watch them in person. Even though Portis isn't the player he was a few years ago, I'm still a bit disappointed that I won't be getting to watch him this weekend.

Just reading about this injury gives me a very strong 'no' feeling. No man's groin should ever be put asunder.

Shanahan has brought Torain in twice now, so perhaps he's got some Olandis Gary / Reuben Droughns mojo in him.
However, I don't like the espn.com scouting profile's concluding sentence: "As a one-cut runner he is not very elusive and does not make defenders consistently miss. He is a tweener -- not really a speed guy or power guy. He does not have a lot of upside."

I'd be willing to bet that it's an effective end to his season, as well as his career — at least with the Redskins. Just my gut feeling on this one.
