Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks will be out at least three weeks after getting hit in the leg during last night's game. He has something called "Compartment Syndrome," which is the same problem Jason Taylor had during his season with the Redskins. That only cost Taylor two games, but it required constant treatment and Taylor's effectiveness was down for the whole season.
(Note: Compartment syndome is apparently swelling in the lower leg that compresses nerves and blood vessels, possibly causing permanent damage.)

The New England Patriots climb to No. 1 in DVOA, but they aren't a great team, because this is The Year of No Great Teams. In fact, no No. 1 team in any week of DVOA has ever been rated lower. (Note: Table errors fixed as of Wed. morning.)
