Jets Trade Kerry Rhodes To Cardinals
Hey look, there's a player going TO Arizona!
Cardinals get Kerry Rhodes, a free safety who has not missed a game in his five-year career (though he did come off the bench in two games at the end of last season).
Jets get Arizona's fourth-round pick this year (that's Arizona's fourth-round pick, not the fourth-rounder the Cardinals got from the Ravens in the Anquan Boldin deal) and a seventh-rounder in 2011.
If Rhodes offers any kind of production in the desert, even for one season, this seems like a bargain.

Minor weaknesses dot these teams. Except for Arizona, which needs to bring in more help to really run Bruce Arians' offense.

Between Rhodes and Adrian Wilson, I wouldn't want to be a receiver going over the middle against them next year.

Kerry "Hollywood" Rhodes rubbed the Jets coaching staff the wrong way by not taking to coaching by Dennis Thurman (who has coached Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed among others). Kerry was more concerned with the NYC cameras and his acting/modeling career then being a football player. Rex likes aggressive and physical players and Kerry is not either which led to him being benched for two games last season. What Rhodes lacks in run support he makes up for with range. He is the prototypical center field safety. He is tall enough to be matched up against a TE but will not make any big hits to prevent slot receivers from going across the middle. Wes Welker's record setting day do just that led to Rhodes brief benching this season.

So what is the difference in production between Antrel Rolle and Rhodes? Around same level or is there going to be a drop off.

I would expect Rhodes to be worse in coverage, but better against the run.

jets got one soft guy with cromsatrie and got rid of aother soft guy with rhodes.
both good players but if were toguher and betetr tacklers both would be all-pro type players every year. both did make all-pro teams in past- cormaties in 2007, rhdoes in 06

Good point you make their Raiderjoe, but I'd take a soft Corner over a soft Safety every time.
Think is what does that leave the Jets at safty? Will they hope to draft Taylor Mays at 29? Will he still be there?
Even if he is that's a pretty big hole at Safety.

Seems like a bargain for the Cardinals, Rhodes is still fairly good right? Someone else had to want to give up more than a late 4th round pick I would think.
