Panthers Release Dwayne Jarrett

Carolina receiver Dwayne Jarrett was popped for his second alcohol/vehicular mishap since he was selected by the team in the second round of the 2007 draft, and he was released by the Panthers on the same day. For those scoring at home, here are Jarrett's career NFL stats:

DUIs: 2
Touchdowns: 1

According to our numbers, this gives Jarrett the single highest DUIAR in NFL history.

Doesn't Chris Henry hold the DUIAR record?

Should have drafted the other Steve Smith.

In my one of my fantasy drafts, I had the first overall pick, and with the 2nd/3rd wraparound I took . . . Steve Smith and Steve Smith. There'd been a big run on WRs, and it seemed funny.

Dwayne Jarrett, at least DUIs gave you headlines. Now go away.

They're pretty bad a getting receivers aren't they?
Time for another coach there. What are they gonna do after they figured out their QB mess...

I really thought he was NFL ready at USC.

That just means he was already getting paychecks.

Now, if the Panthers can start drafting receivers who punch out teammates while driving drunk, that'll really be efficient!

I'd toss on a Rae Carruth joke to finish up, but even I have standards.

When the police-adjustments take effect, will he still be ranked #1?

Yes, he was living in a soft police area
