Seahawks defensive end Patrick Kerney has elected to retire from the NFL after 11 seasons.
Kerney had been hoping for a release from the Seahawks before his retirement, but apparently, he elected to retire when one was not forthcoming.

Minor weaknesses dot these teams. Except for Arizona, which needs to bring in more help to really run Bruce Arians' offense.

Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
If he intends to stay retired, why would his release or lack thereof matter?
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
Maybe it's a retirement in the same sense that Favre keeps retiring.
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
I'm not sure about this, but I believe that since he retired while under contract, he owes the Seahawks a prorated portion of his signing bonus. If he were released, then he could keep the whole bonus even if he subsequently retired.
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
He is a non-factor now anyways and has been since 2007 when he went nuts for a couple games. If I recall correctly, the 2008 Prospectus Hawks chapter described his performance against the Redskins in the playoffs one of the most impressive performances by a defensive player that year - every play he was either double-teamed or he somehow disrupted the play.
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
Yeah, Kerney destroyed Heyer in that game.

Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
It still kills me when he was drafted, one pick after the vikings, needing a defensive end, decided to pass on him for Dimitrius Underwood.

Puma Baylee Futue Cat not goign to be good in 2009. gooc chance Timberland Eomens Boots wins Shoe Footaball confernce West title in 20109. So what loking at there is a bad preicitio on part of Tinberland shoes (not verified). In SFC Eatsern division good chance Timberland Chukka Boots goign to win diviison. Very good shoehorns, laces corpses great (one of best in elague), sole strong, and shoes chuka boots make nice fancy desing in sand when step in sand. so Timberland Chukka Bots nice package,.
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
Raiderjoe, you just about killed me with that one.
Oh, and no freakin' way will Timberland Chukka Boots win their division. Yes, it's weak and their sole is strong, but they're not waterproof while plenty of the competition has Gore-tex linings, and that will hurt them in the bad weather of the playoffs. Unless they compete in domes. Not sure where the hell shoes battle....

When FO gives you lemons, analyze the lemons.

Oh, and now I am torn between wanting that screen-eating abomination at #9 deleted, and wanting it to remain so RJ's genius can shine through.
Re: Patrick Kerney Retires
Sadly, we've seen enough of them (and it's not FO's fault) that we can appreciate RJ's post without the spam having to remain.

Speak for yourselves. This is one of the few times when Adblock Pro has left me at a disadvantage.

If you get to the Kolbheads thread quickly enough, you'll see an example.
