Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
Their chances of beating Cooper's brother with Asher Allen starting, and Karl Paymah getting a lot of playing time, would not have been good.
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
True 'nuff.
Looking ahead to next year, the Vikes really need Winfield to bounce back or that defensive backfield could be a little scary.
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
I think Winfield will be due for a shift to safety in the next year or so. I don't think he'll be playing corner effectively for too much longer.
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
Let's hope you're wrong. The Vikings signed him to an extension that pays him as a top-flight corner, not as a glorified nickle. If you are right, that would be a huge blow to the Vikes. Will?
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
So the penalty for 12 men in the huddle and the Favretastic pick that ensued not only cost the Vikings a likely spot in the Super Bowl, they may have cost the Vikings an important part of their defense for a significant part of next season.
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
Eh, it's not like it was a gimme field goal before.
Re: Vikings Fear Griffin Tore ACL, MCL
Yes, but the field goal was likely before the penalty.
result:
Torn ACL, but MCL okay.
Not quite as bad, but still certain to miss start of next season.
