Yes. Per Adam Schefter and the ESPN crew, all of the remaining problems have been ironed out. The likely scenario sees a press conference on Monday, and sets up free agency to begin next Saturday.

whoa, dude that has to be at least a couple weeks or even end of preseason. Free Agency (starting this Wednesday?) will be CRAZY! Rookies (Cam Newton?) will hold out, veterans will be cut, trades will come fast and furious, players will get injured. Roster pandemonium will ensue! I don't think anyone can forecast the season until rosters are almost set.

Well, as an Indy resident, at least there's solid hope for a Super Bowl this year. I hope there are two teams good enough to make it that far.

Of course there is still a reason to hold out. Guaranteed money has been left open-ended. Plus agents will want to put conditions on the fifth year option.

Assuming this happens, I lost my bet as to who would resolve their difference first--the NFL and NFLPA, or the U.S. Congress.
I guess when negotiating for personal millions, there is more incentive to get things done than when negotiating for the good of the country.
Ah well, at least we'll (hopefully) have football.

I hope the rumours on PFT (via an email from Drew Brees) are right and full on free agency, with no grace period for resigning your own players, will start on Tuesday. That would be a fantastic day.
Have to say, surely tampering this year is at an all time low!

It's not hard to imagine that GMs and agents have had "informal" conversations so that everybody can go into the abbreviated signing period with some idea of what to expect.
