Steelers Re-Sign Troy Polamalu to Four-Year Deal

As first broken by Jason La Canfora, the Steelers and safety Troy Polamalu have agreed on a new four-year contract. Terms were not immediately available, but the sides were discussing numbers above what Eric Weddle got from the Chargers.

The number mentioned was $9M/year, which is probably a little high if it's really for 4 years. But maybe it's good kharma.

Where is the link for Adrian Peterson's extension? Anti-Vikings bias!

It was more of an "anti-spending time on the computer during this glorious day" bias. But it's up now.

I'm more willing to forgive anti-Vikings or anti-Drunkmonkey's fantasy team bias, personally.

Note, since this is FO: This is a joke.

From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Beating by one day their own self-imposed deadline of not negotiating player contracts once the regular season begins, the Steelers signed Polamalu to a four-year, $35.5 million contract that includes a $10.55 million signing bonus that will keep the six-time Pro Bowl player with the team through 2014.

Why? Will it help Ed renegotiate? ;)

(We're both lucky to get to watch those two guys.)

But the pertinent question is, will they continue to be the best safeties in the league over the next four years?
