Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been suspended for this weekend's playoff game against Dallas after stomping on the leg of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Suh will appeal, but given his track record (he has been fined seven times for player safety violations), it's hard to see him winning this one.

There are six plays from Odell Beckham’s LSU tape that made me a fan of his game. Bell isn’t Odell Beckham, but the reasons I like his game aren’t much different on tape.

Peter King explains one of the odder coaching dismissals you'll ever see. Plus, a preview of wild card weekend, the un-surprising favorite to go first overall to Tampa Bay in the draft, possible new quarterbacks in Tennessee and Cleveland, and King's vote for MVP.

Once again this year, we'll keep an open thread all day on the Monday after the season to announce firings. And once again, it all starts Sunday night with the announcement that Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers have parted ways. (Click to read more.)

If you see Cam Newton on a recumbent bicycle, please give him as much space as you would give any motorist.

In this week's SNF column for NBC sports, I take a look at Le'Veon Bell, why his rushing numbers may not be quite as good as you think, and how his value in the passing game makes up for it. Includes an "Oh, hey, here's why Todd Haley is doing this thing that doesn't seem to make sense" explanation.

Brian Hoyer: Out with a deep bruise to his right shoulder/bicep area.
Johnny Manziel: Out with a hamstring injury.
And so the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback against Baltimore will be Connor Shaw, an undrafted rookie out of South Carolina who has spent 16 weeks on Cleveland's practice squad. Shaw will be the Browns' 22nd different starting quarterback in the past 16 years, joining such luminaries as Spergon Wynn, Ken Dorsey, and Thaddeus Lewis.
Shaw started for three years for the Gamecocks, twice finishing second in the SEC in completion percentage.

The Kansas City Chiefs' minuscule playoff odds have taken another hit. Starting quarterback Alex Smith will miss the must-win Week 17 game against San Diego with a lacerated spleen. Chase Daniel will start in Smith's place. It will be the second start of Daniels' career. The first? Week 17 last year, also against San Diego.

Drew Stanton's 2014 season: a winning PowerBall ticket published on a four-leaf clover sitting atop a mound of horseshoes and rabbit's feet.
