Kiko Alonso Tears ACL, Out for Year

Sigh. Honestly, what is going on with linebackers and injuries this offseason? This is a huge blow to the Bills' defense, which was much better than most people realized last season. We know Nigel Bradham is nowhere near as good as Alonso, and it's hard to imagine that third-round rookie Preston Brown will be -- although hey, Alonso was a somewhat unknown second-rounder last year at this time. You never know.

SITE NEWS: Update on KUBIAK and FOA 2014

We're almost at July, which means people are going to start wondering when the 2014 KUBIAK fantasy football projections and Football Outsiders Almanac 2014 are going to show up for sale on Football Outsiders. San Diego Signs Brandon Flowers

Doug Farrar, Cian Fahey, and I had a bit of an e-mail round robin about Flowers about a month ago, before Kansas City cut him. Flowers had phenomenal charting stats in 2012 -- top ten in both Adjusted Success Rate and Adjusted Yards per Pass -- and then horrific charting stats in 2013. Looking closer with two film guys, though, it looked like less of a case of getting old and more a case of player and scheme really not matching. The Chiefs had always played Flowers on one side, period. Suddenly in 2013 they were moving him all over, sometimes into the slot.
