OK, so the battle for the Browns' front office has been decided and the winner is... the assistant GM? Apparently? Who the heck knows at this point. Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi are out. Ray Farmer has been promoted to general manager, a title which he will surely hold for at least the next six days. This franchise has no stability. It has negative stability. No, worse, it has "i" stability. The stability of this franchise is an imaginary number.

An offseason "risers and fallers" piece, in which teams with young cores and cash to spend (Eagles, Colts) get better and old teams in cap trouble fall (Saints, Steelers). Click around Sports on Earth for our GM for a Day series: Rob Weintraub has the latest installment, about the Buccaneers, but we are updating daily. Also: lots of Michael Sam coverage.

This week, PK lets anonymous general managers say things about Michael Sam, tells the tale of John Schneider building the Seahawks roster, and offers a new concussion study for digestion.

Well, here we go. The time has come, and this isn't going to be like Jason Collins, some backup coming out in his late 30's. Michael Sam of Missouri, reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year and mid-round draft prospect, came out tonight in an interview with ESPN's Chris Connelly. Sam came out to his coaches and teammates in August, had a great season, and now will head to the NFL. We have to wait for the combine drills, but I must admit, I'm even a little bit more curious about the SackSEER projections now.

SB Nation longformer Ryan Collins looks back at the stormy post-High School career of Ryan Perrilloux. You might say Perrilloux thinks the LSU staff had Knives Out for him.

This is Deadspin's attempt to not only create a comprehensive list of African-American quarterbacks in the NFL, but to give them each a biography, ranging from one or two sentences about guys who washed out quickly to long, detailed discussion of men like Fritz Pollard, Michael Vick, and Steve McNair. They literally had to have the Gawker technical people raise the character limit for a post to make this thing publishable.

Half of the Thursday Night Football lineup for next year will be headed to CBS, and the other half will be on the NFL Network, per a deal between the NFL and CBS. This also brings back two Saturday games, and all 16 games will be done by CBS' lead broadcasting team.
In other words: JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Sidney Rice has retired. Is he the most random single-season DYAR leader ever? One-year wonder? Injury prone? We offer a career retrospective for the second-best wide receiver named Rice in NFL history.
