It's official: "The NFL will play as many as two regular-season games per year outside the United States starting in 2007, with Mexico, Canada, England and Germany as possible sites for starters." And you know what this means: More Joe Theismann for everybody!

I'll go out on a limb and predict this is going to end badly. Drew Bledsoe was benched at halftime after taking four sacks and throwing an interception. "It was too many mistakes," Bill Parcells said. "Too much improvising." Bledsoe called the benching a "very bad decision" but it's not clear he'll get his job back next week. On the upside, at least Terrell Owens made that big fourth-down catch to sustain a drive early in the second half. Oh, wait. (free registration/bugmenot required)

The other shoe has dropped. According to the story: "Assistant head coach/offensive line coach Jeff Davidson will take over play-calling duties for now, with an assist from Crennel, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports. Davidson is a former Patriots offensive assistant whom Crennel took with him to Cleveland."

When in doubt, blame the noisy hotel. Yeah, that's why the Jaguars lost to the Texans. Memo to Jacksonville's equipment manager: buy ear plugs.

A Super Bowl berth could be decided by the Patriots' ability to contain Le'Veon Bell -- and by Pittsburgh's ability to avoid their usual defensive breakdowns against New England.
