If NFL teams want to use their franchise or transition tag in 2013, they must do so by Monday afternoon. This thread lists players who have been tagged, with discussion.

As first reported by Jay Glazer, Joe Flacco has reportedly reached agreement with the Baltimore Ravens on a contract extension. A source tells Adam Schefter the contract is for 6 years, $120.6 million dollars. Flacco was set to become a free agent when the new league year begins on March 12 unless the Ravens re-signed him or hit him with the franchise tag (the deadline for which is Monday).

Is the NFL sleeping on Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib or is he Russ Lande's ranking of him as his top player on his draft board crazy talk? Not as crazy as you might think.

In light of the Alex Smith deal, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Kansas City Chiefs has an eye on E.J. Manuel as a project to develop behind Alex Smith ala Colin Kaepernick.

Hopefully this isn't another "Chip Kelly to the Browns!" thing. Jay Glazer is reporting that the 49ers and Chiefs have a done deal for Alex Smith, although it can't be announced for two weeks. Tim Kawakami on Twitter says that the 49ers will get a second-rounder this year and a similar pick in 2014. So the 49ers have 15 draft picks now for 2013. That should be interesting. Per Peter King, Brady gets three years, $27 million, but a lot of his salary is fully guaranteed going forward. Well, you can't accuse him of not putting the team before himself. Or of having a bigger contract than Mark Sanchez.

Need for Combine weekend wrap-up plus inevitable Academy Awards tie-in equals the Forty Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in the field of February football distractions.

He’s not big. He’s not fast. Yet, he’s the most sophisticated runner between the tackles I have seen this year.

No player has more at stake during his orthopedic evaluation at the combine this week than Marcus Lattimore.

Greetings, draftniks! Day Two of the Combine featured lots of quarterback press conferences, and there are no Robert Griffin or Andrew Luck types in this draft when it comes to sounding charismatic and impressive at the podium, for whatever that's worth. Also, Jim Harbaugh is an odd dude.

Minor weaknesses dot these teams. Except for Arizona, which needs to bring in more help to really run Bruce Arians' offense.
