It was a great Sunday for watching great teams stumble and tire fires burn.

Offensive line problems highlight the needs in the NFC North ... except in Chicago, which is kind of unsettling to think about.

" The Seahawks enjoyed the week’s most emphatic victory, but of course, we are obliged to think of it as a Jets loss."
You know what the networks, websites, etc (ie, the media) should do? Every 2-3 weeks hype up a new set of teams. This way Mike & Mike in the morning won't basically become a Jets (and other east coast teams) show every Monday. If we all do our part and over hype all the other mediocre teams, as a whole we won't have to suffer through the overexposed Cowboys, Jets, et al year in and year out.

"Giants cornerbacks can be beaten by quality cornerbacks."
Umm, yes probably, but assault and battery is usually conducted off-the-field and is in theory illegal. The latter should have been, perhaps, "[wide] receivers"? :-)
Re: Mandatory Monday: Reality Check
Mike T, a typo, I think: "...Giants cornerbacks can be beaten by quality cornerbacks...." Maybe they're being beaten by other CBs because they're busy convering the WRs instead.
Excellent piece, as usual.
EDIT: Oops, I guess I get a flag for piling on. 15 yards.
Re: Mandatory Monday: Reality Check
I wish Mike would offer an online course in writing comedy. This one had me laughing throughout. The ending paragraph on the jets, chargers, and eagles was pure comedy.

I'm going to make an effort to include"quantum anti-rubble" in my daily vocabulary.

1. I find C-Span very entertaining. You could replace 'This Week in Quotes' with ' This Day in Quotes' based on politician comments.
2. The section on the Metrodump bathrooms and the Lions-Vikings game was priceless -- although the game made me think more of gushing arterial wounds than, well, you know...
